TSRTC fares dearer from today

With revision of fares by TSRTC, the minimum fare in Hyderabad city ordinary buses will be Rs 10 instead of present Rs 5 from Tuesday. Similarly, the maximum fare in Metro express buses would increase from Rs 30 to Rs 35 and the minimum and maximum fares in Metro deluxe buses would be Rs 15 and Rs 45 respectively. Following the decision of the government to permit the TSRTC to hike bus fares by 20 paise per km, the RTC has announced the new rates.

Even the rates for bus passes will be increased. The increased fares would be rounded off to the next higher or lower multiple of Rs 5 to avoid the problem of change. In the city services, the existing structure of 2 km would continue for the city operations. For the inter-state services, the revised fares would be applicable to all services on inter-state routes for the portion of the route within Telangana. The basic fares of other state will be adopted for the portion of the journey in the respective state.

The basic fares in all the bus services were increased right from Pallevelugu to A/C services. The basic ticket price in Pallevelugu and city ordinary



is Rs 10, Express Rs 15, Deluxe Rs 20, Super Luxury Rs 25, Rajdhani A/C and Vajra A/C Rs 35, Garuda A/C and Garuda A/C Plus Rs 35, Vennela A/C Sleeper Rs 70. The prices of bus passes of all categories were also increased. The route passes in cities/ towns up to 4 km (quarterly) were increased from Rs 130 to Rs 165. The last time the prices of students' bus passes increased was in 2013.

The price of ordinary general bus pass has been increased from Rs 770 to Rs 950, the Metro Express pass increased from Rs 800 to Rs 1,070 and the Metro Deluxe pass increased from Rs 990 to Rs 1,185. Under the NGOs category, the ordinary pass increased from Rs 260 to Rs 320, Metro Express from Rs 370 to Rs 450 and Metro Deluxe Rs 480 to Rs 575. 

The MMTS- RTC Combi ticket has been increased from Rs 880 to Rs 1,090. The travel as you like (TYAL) ticket was increased from Rs 80 to Rs 100. The supervisors have been asked to end the exercise of making changes in the ticket issuing machines (TIMs) as the prices will be implemented from the first service on Tuesday.
