Telangana Rashtra Samithi working president KT Rama Rao on Tuesday said Telangana State had emerged as a role model for others in the country in the area of eyecare after the introduction of Kanti Velugu programme.

"Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao introduced the programme considering the fact that eyecare is as important as other organs. Medical camps were held across the State and people have



undergone tests for sight and other eye-related problems," Rama Rao said, after laying the foundation stone for LV Prasad Hospital in Sircilla.

The TRS leader thanked the LV Prasad management for coming forward to establish its seventh centre in Sircilla. He also thanked Hetero Foundation for donating Rs 5 crore to construct hospital building.
