Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao has made it clear that the State Government would wage a legal fight to get justice for the dependent jobs of the Singareni Collieries Company Limited Employees.

The State Government had issued a notification on the appointments to be made under the dependent jobs category in the SCCL and the High Court dismissed this notification on Thursday.

Against this backdrop, the Chief Minister held a review meeting in Pragathi Bhavan here on Thursday evening. He said that it was decided to give dependent jobs to the families keeping in view the hard work and difficulties that workers and employees go through.

It was a step aimed at helping the family members of the workers. However, some vested interests have approached the Court with malicious intentions.

After having a detailed discussion with the Advocate General, Officials of the SCCL and other

senior officials, the Chief Minister has decided to go for an appeal in the Supreme Court against the High Court’s verdict on the matter. He said the appeal will be filed in the Apex Court at the earliest thereby fighting for the cause of the Singareni Workers.

He said a team of senior legal counsels who have specialised in the Labour laws would be engaged for the purpose. The legal fight is to ensure implementation of the firm decision taken by government to stand by the workers who have worked hard throughout their lives, he said.

TGBKS (Telangana Boggu Ghani Karmika Sangham) Honorary President and MP K. Kavita, MP Balka Suman, Government Chief Whip Koppula Eswar, Whip Nallala Odelu, TSRTC Chairman Somarapu Satyanarayana, Government Chief Advisor Rajiv Sharma, CS S.P.
