The State government expedited the efforts to equip government hospitals with liquid oxygen storage units, Pressure Swing Absorption (PSA) plants and cryogenic tankers, to ensure a proper supply of oxygen to meet the needs of patients in the State.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao announced plans to set up oxygen plants with a capacity of 324 tonnes in 48 government hospitals apart from developing oxygen plants with 100 tonnes capacity in Hyderabad alone.

As per the directions of the Chief Minister, Finance Minister T Harish Rao and Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar held a meeting with the representatives of various companies involved in setting up oxygen plants, tankers and other facilities at BRKR Bhavan on Tuesday. The company representatives made a presentation on the



production of medical equipment during the meeting.

The Minister instructed the companies to take immediate steps to provide equipment to supply oxygen to patients in government hospitals. He also reviewed and directed the Health officials to initiate the necessary process immediately to implement the directions of the Chief Minister on Covid-19 control measures in the State.

Principal Secretary for IT and Industries Jayesh Ranjan, Health and Family Welfare Secretary SAM Rizvi, Special Secretary for Finance Ronald Ross, Director of Medical Education Ramesh Reddy, Telangana State Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TSMSIDC) managing director Chandrashekhar Reddy and others attended the meeting.
