Truck rams into parked lorry at ORR, one killed

A 35-year-old man was killed after a heavily loaded truck rammed into a lorry parked on the Outer Ring Road in Medchal on Tuesday.

According to police, the incident occurred around 4 am when the lorry carrying a plywood consignment from Chennai to Miyapur was halted on the roadside due to sudden rain.

The victim, identified as Bihari Rai,



was travelling with the lorry. As the rain intensified, Rai climbed onto the vehicle to secure a tarpaulin sheet over the plywood load to prevent it from getting wet.

While he was tying the cover, another truck carrying a heavy load of crusher material allegedly approached from behind at high speed. The truck crashed into the parked lorry, throwing Rai off the vehicle.
