Transgender filed nomination in Mancherial 'Grampanchayat elections'

Kummari Srinivas alias Vaishali, a transgender, filed nomination from Venkatraopalli, Mancherial grampanchayat reserved for general category in Jaipur mandal on Thursday.

Officials said that Vaishali was the only transgender person to be in the fray in elections to local



bodies in the district. 

She exuded confidence in winning in the polls. She promised to strive hard to develop the village on many fronts if elected. 

She stated that she was determined to serve the public and to excel in politics.
