Tight security in Hyderabad for R-Day parade

Unprecedented security arrangements have been made for Republic Day parade to be held in Hyderabad in the wake of recent arrests of suspected ISIS activists. City Police have made elaborate arrangements at the Parade Grounds this morning for the celebrations.

About thousand police officials and personnel have been deployed in and around the parade grounds while security has been beefed up at all public places and important installations in view of terror alerts issued by the Central Intelligence Agencies. The police have also taken up massive vehicle checking and frisking at several parts of the city,



especially in the bordering areas of Hyderabad.

They are also verifying the vehicles entering the city, especially from other states. Heavy traffic diversions have also been imposed on roads leading to parade grounds.

Telangana and Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan will unfurl the national flag at the Historic Parade Grounds in Secunderabad this morning at 10.30. Prior to that, he will hoist the national flag in Vijayawada at 7.30 am in Andhra Pradesh.
