A tiger scare has gripped the district once again, with a tiger from neighbouring Maharashtra straying into the forests of Bheempur mandal after crossing the Penganga river, triggering panic among residents of several villages, including those living along the river banks and in forest fringe areas.

Residents of Pippalkoti

and surrounding villages claimed that the tiger, which killed a cow three days ago, was wandering on the outskirts of forests and agricultural fields.

They urged Forest officials to closely track the animal’s movement to prevent casualties, stating that villagers were living under constant fear following its presence.
