Thunderstorms to continue across Telangana for one more week

Severe spells of thundershowers accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are expected to continue across multiple districts of Telangana for one more week, according to a forecast from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Hyderabad, issued on Monday evening.

Under the spell of intense thunderstorms, evening temperatures might drop by a degree or two. However, the daytime maximum temperatures in more than 20 districts will hover between 40 degrees



Celsius and 44 degrees Celsius.

The IMD, Hyderabad has issued a severe thunderstorm alert along with gusty winds of 40 to 50 kmph (Orange alert) on Tuesday for Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Mahabubabad, Sangareddy and Kamareddy districts.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur at isolated places over Telangana. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds of 40 to 50 kmph are likely to continue.”
