Thimmapur Inspector, LMD Sub-Inspector and a constable were suspended over allegations of corruption by Multi-Zone Inspector General S Chandrashekhar Reddy on Wednesday.

As per the order, Inspector Bollam Ramesh, LMD SI Anwar and a constable from the LMD police station were suspended. Action was initiated against the three based on a report following allegations levelled by the owner of a JCB machine and three tractors recently.

The vehicles had been seized for allegedly being used for illegal earth mining in an irrigation

tank.

Babu, the owner of the vehicles, recently spoke to mediapersons and alleged that Ramesh, Anwar and the constable demanded Rs 1 lakh for releasing his vehicles.

He accused them of forcing him to pay Rs 30,000 in cash and transfer Rs 20,000 to a wine shop owner through PhonePe. He claimed that he had to pay the bribe after paying fines to the government.

Subsequently, an inquiry was conducted into Babu’s allegations. The inquiry reportedly found that the Inspector, SI and constable had harassed the owner while seeking bribes.
