Three charred to death in a road accident in Mahabubabad

Mahabubabad: Three persons were charred to death in a fire that broke out following a head-on collision of two trucks in Maripeda mandal in the district during early hours on Friday.

The incident occurred on national highway 563 on Warangal–Khammam route at Yellampet on the outskirts of Maripeda town. A truck going to Gujarat from Vijayawada collided with another one going to Andhra Pradesh from



Warangal.

The impact of the collision crushed the engine cabins of both the trucks. The drivers of both the vehicles and a cleaner were trapped in the rubble and were charred to death. One truck was carrying a granite load and the other chicken feed, CI Raj Kumar told the media.

The identity of the deceased was not known yet. Firefighters and police were engaged in rescue operations.
