Three persons were booked on charges of abandoning cattle on roads in different parts of Adilabad town on Tuesday.
Police said a case was registered against Kailash, Ahmed Khan and Sajid Khan for allowing 22 cows to occupy roads, causing inconvenience to motorists and resulting in road accidents. The cows were shifted to a shed in Echoda. A special drive was carried out jointly by
the police and municipal officials to check the menace.
The police said cattle roaming on the roads were not only causing inconvenience to motorists but also to vegetable vendors. They said the presence of the cows could lead to road accidents and traffic snarls. Owners of the cattle were advised not to leave the animals on roads recklessly. Cases would be booked against violators.
