The Therapy Dog Program aims to enhance passenger experience by offering a unique engagement activity that helps travellers destress while they navigate through their journey. The presence of therapy dogs is known to reduce anxiety, boost mood, and create a positive and calming airport environment.

Presence and activity

Two therapy dogs will be stationed at key passenger touchpoints post-security check.
The therapy dogs will interact with passengers in designated areas such as the retail zone and boarding gates within Domestic & International departures.

Operations

The dogs will always be accompanied by trained handlers.
They will only interact with passengers who willingly approach them, ensuring passenger comfort.
The activity would be for 4-6 hours per day, allowing the dogs adequate rest and recovery time.

Passenger Guidelines: DOs & DON’Ts

DOs

Feel free to interact with the therapy dogs if you are comfortable.
Approach the dogs calmly and allow them to familiarize themselves with you.
Follow the handler’s instructions while interacting with the dogs.
Enjoy the experience and



take photos (but without using flash).
If you have allergies, maintain a safe distance.
Please be with your children while they play with the dogs

DON’Ts

Do not force interactions-only pet the dogs if they willingly come to you.
Avoid feeding the dogs or offering them treats.
Do not startle them by making loud noises or sudden movements.
Do not try to pick them up or pull their ears/tail.
If you feel uncomfortable, respect others who wish to engage with the therapy dogs.

Engagement Activities with Therapy Dogs

To make the experience more interactive and memorable, passengers can participate in:

Fetch Play – Passengers can throw a small toy for the dog to fetch, ensuring gentle play.
Selfie Zone – Dedicated spots for passengers to take pictures with the therapy dogs.
Gentle Petting Session – Enjoy calming petting sessions with the dogs under handler supervision.
