TGSRTC employees on Monday staged a half-naked protest at the Karimnagar-II depot to oppose the state government’s plans to privatise the corporation by introducing electric buses.
As part of the statewide protest call given by the TGSRTC JAC, employees staged a half-naked protest in front of the Karimnagar-II depot. They raised slogans against the government for trying to privatise the corporation.
Speaking on the occasion, JAC
vice-chairman Thomas Reddy said that the central government should supply electric buses to states and that the Telangana government should operate these buses instead of handing them over to private persons.
Demanding the merger of TGSRTC into the state government, he said the government should resume unions in the corporation and provide pay scales. Besides all reimbursements, the Mahalaxmi scheme amount should be provided to the corporation immediately.
