The Telangana Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TGRERA) has directed promoter-cum-builder VB City LLP, Jubilee Hills, to follow the guidelines issued by the GHMC Fire Safety Wing.
A complaint was lodged by Bomma Laxmikanth, a resident of Indis VB City, Turkapally village in Alwal, stating that a fire broke out in his flat in April 2024. He highlighted the non-availability of adequate fire extinguishers within the premises and pointed out that the situation was worsened by a lack of water pressure in the fire-fighting system installed in the building.
Following the incident, the building was inspected by GHMC, which found
deficiencies in fire safety installations, including the absence of fire extinguishers, hose reels and terrace-level water storage and pumping infrastructure.
TGRERA Chairman Dr A Satyanarayana and its members issued orders on September 17 directing the promoter to strictly comply with the recommendations in the inspection report issued by the EV & DM Department, GHMC, which identified critical deficiencies in Tower-F.
“The promoter must ensure that fire safety systems are periodically inspected by a competent authority to prevent the recurrence of any hazardous conditions or accidents in the future,” the orders said.
