The Telangana Human Rights Commission (TGHRC), headed by chairperson, Dr. Justice Shameem Akther passed an order regarding the reported illness of girl students of a BC Girls Gurukul School at Bellampalli, Mancherial district. 

The Commission took suo-motu cognizance of a news report dated July 24, 2026 regarding suspected food poisoning among the students. 

On examination of the report submitted by the Collector and District Magistrate, Mancherial, the Commission noted that the affected students were



provided medical treatment, recovered and were discharged, and that medical evaluation did not establish food poisoning or any severe health complication. 

The Commission recommended that the Collector ensure that hostel authorities exercise due care in the preparation and serving of food and strictly comply with prescribed health, hygiene and food-safety standards to prevent recurrence of such incidents. 

With the above recommendation, the Commission closed further proceedings in the case.
