Taking a tough stand, Telangana Power Generation Limited on Thursday evening issued a final notice to artisans participating in the indefinite strike, directing them to resume duties within 24 hours.
The notice warns that failure to comply will result in termination of services without any further communication. Artisans have also been cautioned against taking part in any future strikes.
Citing the Telangana Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA), the corporation stated that strikes have been prohibited in public interest for six months, from February 25 to August 24 this
year.
It further clarified that any strike during the pendency of proceedings before a Labour Court, Tribunal or National Tribunal, and for two months after their conclusion, would be considered illegal.
The corporation termed the ongoing strike illegal, stating that it violated service conditions. It also alleged that some artisans had threatened damage to TG GENCO property and machinery if their demands were not met, calling it a serious security concern.
Earlier in the day, the corporation decided to suspend medical facilities for artisans participating in the strike and their dependents.
