Tension prevails after BJP candidate’s alleged suicide in Makthal

Tension prevailed in Makthal after BJP candidate from the sixth ward, Mahadevappa, allegedly died by suicide in the early hours of Tuesday.

There is uncertainty surrounding his death, with different versions being reported. While family members said that Mahadevappa hanged himself at his house around 5 a.m., another version said that he



suffered a cardiac arrest.

Police reached the BJP candidate’s residence and the body was shifted to the government hospital for post-mortem. 

There are allegations that the BJP candidate took the extreme step as he was unable to bear pressure allegedly exerted by Congress leaders in the constituency, according to reports.
