Ten killed as fire rages in Gulzar Houz jewellery shop

In a major fire incident, at least ten persons were killed and an equal number injured when fire broke out at a building at Gulzar Houz in the old city early on Sunday.

The fire broke out on the ground floor of a building housing some jewelry shops and soon spread to the upper floors of the three floored building.

While there were no people in the shop, some families were staying in the room on the upper floors. Due to the fire there was a air conditioner compressor blast due to which at least



five people got injured and died while another five were suffocated to death due to smoke

On information, the fire tenders from Moghalpura and Gowliguda fire stations rushed to the spot and started the fire fighting operation.

The fire fighters faced a tough time as there was no proper access to the building and the firemen had to climb on to the adjacent buildings to combat the fire. The fire fighting operations are going on and the men are facing problems entering the building filled with smoke.
