IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao on Thursday directed officials of the Industries department to chalk out an exit strategy so that that the industrial sector continues to perform in its efficient and productive manner.

The Minister, who held a meeting with officers of IT and Industries departments at the T Fiber office here, expressed hope that the fear of spread of the pandemic will recede soon. Rama Rao said the working conditions in industries, however, will change forever as the norms of social distancing and ensuring personal through use of soaps and sanitizers would continue. “We may have to make small changes here and there to suit the working conditions,” he added.

Listing out the various steps to be taken to create a sense of confidence among the workforce, the Minister said the exit strategy must include the aspect of changed work place keeping in mind the social distancing norms. “I would suggest that you (officers) start talking to the stakeholders about the required changes so that the industries and the businesses return to their original form, as it was before



Covid 19,” Rama Rao said.

Calling upon the senior officers of the IT and Industries departments to be prepared to invite and facilitate industries that are planning to shift their base from certain countries, he said that Telangana must be ready in all aspects to host them. He wanted that efforts to attract such business houses must begin right away without any delay.

He further suggested that efforts must be intensified to invite existing firms to add to their capacity and also invite new industrial houses to shift their base to Telangana and invest here.

He said that both the Industries and IT departments must work in tandem to achieve the goal. “We need to work on issues that would follow as a fallout of the current crisis. We need to study the impact and also prepare strategies to overcome those problems,” he said, and directed the officials to come up with department-wise strategies for the post corona scenario. Principal Secrecy IT and Industries Jayesh Ranjan was also present in the meeting.
