Telangana to face first-ever panchayat polls today

The polling began for the first phase of gram Panchayat elections in Telangana at 7 am today and conclude around 1 pm.

In the first phase, the elections are being held for 769 Panchayats and 28,976 wards. Heavy

bandobast has been imposed with around 26,000 police men across the polling centres.

The vote counting will begin at 2 pm and the results may be declared by today evening.
