The State government has constituted the State Security Commission (SSC) with the Home Minister as ex officio chairperson. The Commission was constituted following orders from the Supreme Court.

The other members of the Commission include N Ananda Rao, member (Judicial), State Human Rights Commission and Chief Secretary Somesh Kumar as members. Director-General of Police M Mahendar Reddy will be the ex officio secretary.

The government has also appointed the former Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Tirupathi Rao and Telangana Today Editor K Srinivas Reddy as panel members of the Commission.

Meanwhile, the State government has appointed the following panel members to the State Police Complaints Authority and two District Police Complaints Authorities – Hyderabad region and Warangal region for Commissionerates and districts.

Afzulpurkar (retired) will be chairman of the State Police Complaints Authority while retired IPS officer V Naveen Chand will be the member and Additional Director-General of Police (Law and Order) will be the member secretary.

Retired District Judge K Sanga Reddy will be the chairman of the District Police Complaints Authority, Hyderabad region while retired IPS officer A Venkateshwar Rao will be the member and Inspector-General of Police, West zone will be the member secretary.

Retired District Judge M Venkata Rama Rao will be the chairman of the District Police Complaints Authority, Warangal region while retired Additional Commissioner (CT) J Laxminarayana will be the member and Inspector-General of Police, North zone will be member secretary.

The terms and conditions would be issued later, said Principal Secretary to Government Ravi Gupta.
