With most urban voters busy at work during the day, instructions have been issued to schedule the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls hearings, particularly in the Core Urban Region Economy (CURE) area, in the evenings.
The move comes after the Telangana Chief Electoral Officer’s inspection revealed no major turnout of voters for the
hearings in the CURE area. In one such inspection held in Medchal-Malkajgiri district on Thursday,
Electoral Registration Officers were directed to hold hearings for working professionals in the evenings. This is aimed at giving voters flexibility to depose before the BLOs or Assistant Electoral Registration Officers (AEROs) for hearing and submit necessary documents.
