The state government has accorded administrative sanction for Rs 11.86 crore to restore and renovate eight Kamaans in the Old City, replacing an earlier proposal for minor repairs after authorities found the structures had deteriorated significantly and posed a safety risk.
The restoration will be
carried out by the Quli Qutub Shah Urban Development Authority (QQSUDA), with the expenditure to be met from HMDA funds.
The government has also permitted QQSUDA to appoint consultants for preparing detailed project reports (DPRs) and to invite separate tenders for each restoration work.
