The sleuths of Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday morning remanded Renewable Energy Development Corporation (REDCO) Divisional Engineer Mutyam Venkata Ramana to judicial remand and sent him to Chanchalguda prison. Ramana was arrested in connection with a disproportionate assets (DA) case. 

The total assets are estimated at about Rs. 27.65 crore. Ramana was remanded after completing his medical test at Osmania General Hospital (OHG).

The ACB booked case of disproportionate assets to the known sources of income for acquiring assets by



indulging in corrupt practices and dubious means during his service. As this is an offence punishable under Section 13(1)(b) read with 13(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act-1988.

Preliminary searches were conducted on Wednesday at his house, office, and seven other places belonging to his relatives, associates, and benamidars. 

During the searches, several property documents were seized. Further enquiries revealed that Ramana had made significant investments in the construction sector through four construction firms registered in the name of his wife.
