The statewide Pulse Polio immunization programme concluded successfully, with the health department achieving 101.4 per cent coverage, surpassing its target. According to official estimates, the state has around 4,097,749 children in the 0–5 age group.

However, a total of 4,153,185 children were administered polio drops during the drive, exceeding expectations. Health officials said the achievement was made possible through a combination of polio booths and extensive door-to-door visits to

identify and vaccinate children who were initially missed.

Special drives were conducted in construction sites, migrant labour colonies, high-risk areas, slums, and child care homes to ensure that no child was left out of the immunization programme.

State Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha congratulated doctors, officials, ANMs, ASHA workers, Anganwadi staff, volunteers, and other frontline personnel for their dedicated efforts in making the programme a success.
