Women activists of the ruling Congress in Telangana on Tuesday held a protest here demanding that the Centre roll back fuel price hike.

Led by Telangana Pradesh Mahila Congress Committee president Errabelli Swarna, the women activists held a rally from Gandhi Bhavan, the party's state headquarters, to Gun Park at the legislature complex.

Raising slogans against the NDA government, they demanded that the

Centre reduce the prices of LPG cylinders, petrol and diesel. Swarna alleged that the Centre opportunistically announced a fuel price hike after the Assembly elections concluded in West Bengal and other states.

The hike in the prices of LPG, petrol and diesel caused enormous burden on farmers and people belonging to the poor and middle classes, she said, demanding relief for common people.
