Telangana Jagruthi president and BRS MLC K Kavitha launched a new initiative called “Leader”, a leadership training programme to empower women and youth across the State.

The training sessions will focus on grassroots governance, problem-solving, securing development funds, and understanding the constitutional roles of public representatives such as Sarpanches, MLAs, and MPs. Starting in July in Hyderabad, three-day training camps will be held every month in different districts from August onwards.

Unveiling the programme’s poster at her residence here, Kavitha announced that Telangana Jagruthi would transform into a political training platform for those without a political

background.

“If youth enter politics, it will mark the beginning of clean politics,” she said, stressing the importance of building a questioning and democratic mindset across generations. She asserted that Telangana was a land of questioning and that this spirit must continue.

Citing the proposed delimitation, the BRS MLC stressed on the rising opportunities for women leaders under the Womens’ Reservation Act as the Assembly seats in Telangana were expected to hit 153, besides a similar increase in MP seats. She also stated that this would also provide an opportunity for BCs and youth.

“Telangana Jagruthi will continue to champion the voices of youth, women, and BCs in the political decision-making process,” she added.
