Women leaders from Telangana Jagruthi approached the Telangana State Women’s Commission on Monday, seeking strict action against MLC Ch Naveen Kumar for his alleged derogatory remarks against BRS MLC and Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha.
As the Chairperson of the Commission, Nerella Sharada, was unavailable, the Jagruthi delegation submitted their written complaint to commission members Sudham Lakshmi, K Revathi Rao, K Umadevi Yadav, and Shaheen Afroze.
The complaint was led by Telangana Jagruthi president Maripalli Madhavi and senior leaders Varalakshmi, Padala Manoja, Deshpaka Suchitra, among others. They expressed their displeasure over the Chairperson’s absence despite prior intimation and objected to the Secretary initially refusing to accept their complaint.
The delegation criticized the Commission’s unresponsive attitude, stating that
such behavior sends a wrong message in cases involving insults against women.

The Jagruthi leaders questioned whether the Commission stood with those who insult women. Eventually, the Commission members intervened and allowed the delegation to submit the complaint, assuring them that the issue would be brought to the Chairperson’s notice.
