Telangana HC to Hear Pleas on GHMC Ward Delimitation

Justice B. Vijaysen Reddy of the Telangana High Court on Monday granted permission to hear around 80 writ petitions in the afternoon session, all relating to the delimitation of wards following the proposed merger of surrounding areas into the Greater Hyderabad

Municipal Corporation (GHMC).

The batch of petitions challenges the ward delimitation exercise in the context of the GHMC’s proposed expansion from its existing 650 square kilometres to over 2,000 square kilometres after the merger.
