A two-judge bench of Telangana High Court on Tuesday ordered notices to A. Santhi Kumari, Chief Secretary of the Government of Telangana state, and Burra Venkatesham, principal secretary of school education department, in a contempt case complaining of wilful violation of an earlier order of the court.

A panel of Chief Justice Atul Aradhe and Justice J. Anil Kumar was dealing with a petition filed by Mohammed Hajara Begum, Tejavathu Gorya and others complaining against the officials for not according consent for permanent inter-state transfers pursuant to the letter of the Chief Secretary of the Government of Andhra Pradesh. The petitioners in

the contempt plea contended in spite of the direction of this court directing the respondents to take a appropriate decision with regard to the claim of the petitioners for accepting the transfer from AP to Telangana, the Telangana state government officials had failed to take action.

Keeping in view the fact that the government of AP had given consent, the court while disposing of the writ petitions directed the Telangana state government to take an appropriate decision within four weeks. According to the petitioners though the time had lapsed the officials had not taken any decision.
