The Telangana High Court has dismissed a petition challenging the election of Siddipet MLA and former minister T Harish Rao. The court decision marks another legal victory for the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader.
The case, which sought to declare Harish Rao’s election invalid, was struck down, dealing a blow to the ruling Congress party’s attempts to target BRS leaders.
The BRS has accused the Congress government, led by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy, of engaging in vindictive politics by filing a series of “illegal and
baseless” cases against opposition leaders. From the recent phone-tapping case to the election petition dismissed by the Court, Harish Rao and his party claim these legal actions are politically motivated and aimed at silencing dissent.
The courts, however, have consistently ruled against such cases. The judiciary has once again delivered a strong response to the Congress party’s conspiracies, Harish Rao stated, expressing his unwavering faith in the legal system. He emphasised that no amount of frivolous cases would deter him from questioning the government’s failures.
