Warangal: Health minister C. Damodara Rajanarsimha on Thursday said the state government was giving a lot of thrust on Warangal — Orugallu — to transform it into a health hub. Any super specialty treatment can be provided in the city shortly, he added.

The minister was speaking after inaugurating the Rs 183-crore government medical college and hospital in Narasampet constituency along with Warangal district in-charge minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy and endowment minister Konda Surekha. MP Porika Balram

Naik and MLAs Donthu Madhava Reddy and K.R. Nagaraju were present.

Along with the 200-bed facility in Narsampet, the government was also planning to establish a cancer treatment centre, along with centres for IVF and injuries in Warangal. The government was in the process of recruiting teaching and non-teaching faculty for the college. It would also establish a nursing college at a cost of Rs 28 crore along with a para-medical college at a cost of Rs 30 crore in Narsampet.
