In Telangana, the state agriculture department is all set to roll out a mobile phone app-based purchase system for farmers to buy Urea.
The agriculture department said, the App is designed to ensure seamless distribution and sales of the fertiliser.
The app is available for Android phones as ‘Fertilizer Booking App’, and was tested in Peddapalli district earlier this
week.
The testing was extended to 10 more districts yesterday and likely to be rolled out across the state early next week.
The authorities had faced criticism over supply of urea to farmers in the Kharif crop season earlier this year.
The officials informed that the primary focus was to eliminate panic among farmers over the availability of urea.
