Telangana govt renames TIMS Sanathnagar after Marri Channa Reddy

The State government has issued orders renaming the Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS), Sanathnagar, as Dr Marri Channa Reddy Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences, Sanathnagar.

The order (G.O.Ms. No. 63) was issued by Principal Secretary, Health, Medical and Family Welfare Department, Dr Christina Z Chongthu, on



July 30. The new name will be used for signage, public references and administrative purposes to honour former Chief Minister Dr Marri Channa Reddy.

Announcing the decision, the office of Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha said the renaming serves as a tribute to Dr Marri Channa Reddy’s contributions to the State and public life.
