Telangana govt has issued orders enhancing life tax on both transport and non-transport vehicles under the Telangana Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1963.
As per the G.O.Ms.No.53 issued by the Transport, Roads & Buildings Department on Wednesday, amendments have been made to the Third, Sixth, and Seventh Schedules of the Act, revising tax slabs for motorcycles, scooters, cars, jeeps, and company-owned or additional
personal vehicles.
Under the new structure, tax rates have been increased across various categories based on the cost of vehicles and their age. For instance, new motorcycles will attract life tax ranging from 9% to 18% depending on cost, while new non-transport four-wheelers such as cars and jeeps will be taxed between 13% and 21%. Company-owned and second personal vehicles will face higher rates, starting from 15% and going up to 25%.
