Telangana Govt Announces Two DA Hikes for Employees

The Telangana government has issued orders sanctioning two instalments of Dearness Allowance (DA) for government employees. The two DA instalments are due from January 1, 2024, and July 1, 2024. 

The first instalment has accumulated arrears for 33 months, from January 2024 to September 2026, amounting to Rs.3,810 crore. 

The second instalment has arrears for 27 months, from July 2024 to September 2026, amounting to Rs.2,364



crore.

Together, the arrears for the two DA instalments amount to Rs.6,174 crore. The government had five DA instalments pending. The DA due from January 1, 2024, is 3.64 per cent, taking the cumulative DA to 37.31 per cent. 

The DA due from July 1, 2024, is 2.73 per cent, taking the cumulative DA to 40.04 per cent. The subsequent DA instalments due from January 1, 2025, and July 1, 2025, are 1.82 per cent and 2.73 per cent, respectively. With these, the cumulative DA would reach 44.59 per cent.
