The State government has decided to offer an ex-gratia of Rs 5 lakh for the families of those who lost their lives in the recent rains and to extend compensation to farmers who lost their cattle.
At a review meeting on the rains and damages here on Monday, officials informed Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy that, as per preliminary estimates, crops in about 2.36 lakh acres were damaged in 82 mandals.
The Chief Minister wanted the agriculture department to submit a comprehensive report on the losses suffered for submitting the same to the union government.
Similarly, officials informed that 257 tanks suffered breaches. The Chief Minister asked officials to utilise funds under different union government schemes and programmes and to take up repairs and restoration works at the minor irrigation projects.
