The Telangana government is making elaborate arrangements for the month of Ramzan, Social Welfare Minister Koppula Eshwar said on Monday.

He, along with Advisor to the Government on Minority Welfare AK Khan, reviewed with officials at the Secretariat the arrangements for Ramzan. The Minister told officials that arrangements should be made so that gift packets were made available at 448 mosques in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) limits and 367 mosques in 32 districts for Ramzan celebrations. The government will also sanction Rs 1 lakh to each of the mosques for conducting



Iftar.

Collectors would review the arrangements in their districts, Eshwar said. He instructed officials to repair all roads and lighting in all mosques in GHMC areas before Ramzan. Drinking water should be provided at all mosques too, he said.

The Minister requested the police department to deploy additional personnel at night bazaars and instructed officials to provide free medical camps and ORS packets to those in need. GHMC Commissioner Dana Kishore, Minorities Welfare Department Director Shah Nawaz Khasi and Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anjani Kumar were present.
