Hyderabad: Telangana government is all set to reduce five percent VAT on cell phones in the state. The Commercial Tax Department in Telangana in it's report stated that the current tax rate stands at 14.5 percent and there will be a increase in the returns to the government due to the massive tax



evasion.

Even though the usage of cell phones has been increasing significantly, but the Telangana government is not receiving much in the  VAT revenue. With the other states issuing five percent VAT on cell phones, the state government is said to have taken a positive decision in this regard.
