To serve the needy amid lockdown, the State government has decided to increase the number of Annapurna Canteens offering hot and hygienic meals for Rs 5.

In addition to the present 140 canteens in GHMC limits, the additional 102 new canteens will be set up which will become operational from May 14.

The list of canteens was also shared by Municipal Administration and Urban Development principal secretary Arvind Kumar on

“#COVIDSecondWaveInIndia #Hyderabad In addition to the existing 140 Annapurna centres, @GHMCOnline has arranged an additional 102 Annapurna centres for providing ₹5 meal during lunch time, these centres will be fully operational from May 14 @KTRTRS,” tweeted the principal secretary.

The GHMC, in association with Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Trust, operates these canteens and the meals are a boon especially for daily-wage earners.
