The TRS government will continue to remain partial to workers and labourers, the party’s working president, KT Rama Rao, said on Wednesday. Asserting that the State government was committed to ensuring welfare of workers, he assured them of taking up their request for ration cards and dignity housing near their workplace with Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao.

At the May Day celebrations at Telangana Bhavan on Wednesday, Rama Rao said the Chief Minister was not only encouraging the establishment of numerous industries under Make in India and Make in Telangana programmes, but was also making all efforts to give priority to locals in recruitments in these industries. He said the Chief Minister insisted that the industrial policy also should ensure job security for workers.

Rama Rao recalled that the previous governments got Anganwadi workers stomped by horses for seeking a salary hike, while Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao invited them to Pragathi Bhavan where he

patiently listened to their problems and got them resolved, besides increasing their salaries. He rubbished the allegations of the opposition parties that the general public was not allowed inside Pragathi Bhavan and pointed out that the Chief Minister was interacting with people as well as resolving their problems at Pragathi Bhavan.

Further, the TRS working president said the Chief Minister not only got several closed industries reopened, but also increased salaries of grassroots-level employees and workers, including Anganwadi and ASHA workers, village revenue assistants, sanitation workers and homeguards, among others. He pointed out that the Chief Minister also resolved long pending issues such as dependent jobs and waived motor vehicle tax on auto-rickshaws and tractors. “The Chief Minister is working with the single motto of increasing the government revenue and spending it for the welfare of the poor and the needy,” Rama Rao said.
