Telangana Chief Electoral Officer C Sudarshan Reddy on Thursday cautioned electors against fraudulent messages and calls being made in the name of ECI/CEO over rejection of enumeration forms and asked voters not to respond to them.
In a statement, Reddy said some fraudsters were attempting to scam people by sending fraudulent messages about enumeration forms being rejected due to a
mismatch in electors’ details in voter cards and enumeration forms under the SIR.
Stating that fraudsters were asking electors to make a call on a number, Reddy said voters were being asked to fill up the form via a link sent on WhatsApp and make a payment of Rs 5 either through net banking, credit or debit cards. They were also seeking bank details viz., login, password, CVV number, ATM PIN etc.
