The Telangana Cabinet will meet on May 23 at the State Secretariat in Hyderabad, with housing, road infrastructure, irrigation, welfare schemes and austerity measures among the key items on the agenda.
The meeting, originally scheduled for May 21, was postponed in view of the Saraswati Antya Pushkarams. Though there was speculation that the Cabinet would be convened at Yadagirigutta during the Chief Minister?s visit for foundation stone ceremonies on May 23, the
government issued fresh orders confirming that the meeting would be held at the State Secretariat.
The meeting assumes significance as the Congress government is gearing up for Telangana Formation Day celebrations on June 2 and seeks to accelerate the implementation of welfare and infrastructure initiatives. The Cabinet is set to discuss the implementation of the ongoing 99-day ?Praja Palana-Pragathi Nivedika? action plan, which will conclude on June 12.
