Assurances of job calendar, recruitment notifications and unemployment allowance for youth continue to remain hollow as the Telangana Congress government yet again omitted fresh job notifications and financial assistance in the Budget presented on Friday.
During the last Assembly elections, the Congress party had promised to fill 2 lakh vacancies, with a job calendar, within one year of coming to power. However, even after two years, the Congress government continued the same pattern, with no mention of new jobs in the Budget.
Presenting the Budget, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu claimed the government
issued job appointment letters to 67,763 persons, so far. In fact, the majority of these jobs had been notified during the previous BRS government. In addition, the Deputy Chief Minister failed to announce how many new job notifications will be issued and filled in the next financial year.
Further, the government has to allocate budget for paying salaries for the newly recruited persons. However, there is no mention of such allocations in the Budget. In fact, the State is already struggling to pay monthly salaries to its existing employees, who are paid in the first or second week of every month as against the assurance on the first day of the month.
