Telangana is set to observe a state-wide bandh tomorrow, October 18, called by Backward Class (BC) associations demanding 42% reservations in local body elections.

The protest, led by BC Joint Action Committee (BC JAC) under MP R. Krishnaiah, has garnered support from major political parties, including Congress, BRS, and BJP.

Schools and Colleges to Remain Closed As part of the bandh, all schools and colleges, both government and private, are expected to remain closed

tomorrow.

The Federation of Associations of Telangana Higher Institutions (FATHI) had previously announced a week-long protest starting October 13 due to pending scholarship dues.

The bandh on October 18 coincides with their planned demonstrations, leading to a unified closure of educational institutions across the state. Parents and students are advised to plan accordingly. Educational institutions have been asked to follow safety guidelines and ensure minimal disruption once the bandh ends.
