Two new government polytechnics, one each in Kesamudram and Patancheru, will be operational from the academic year 2025-26.
The new polytechnic at Kesamudram, Mahabubabad, will offer a diploma in AI, CSE, electrical engineering and electric vehicle technology, and embedded systems. Similarly, diplomas in CSE, EEE and ECE will be offered at Patancheru polytechnic. Each diploma programme will offer 60 seats.
With addition of two new colleges, 59 government polytechnics will be operational with a total intake of 14,280 seats from the academic year
2025-26.
Meanwhile, the Technical Education department released a schedule for polytechnic admissions via TG POLYCET, with registrations for the first phase scheduled from June 24 to 28. Certificates verification will be done between June 26 and 29, and web options will be available from June 26 to July 1.
The first phase provisional seat allotment will be on or before July 4 and self-reporting through the website should be done between July 4 and 6. Following the first phase, two more phases of admission counselling will be conducted, and class work will commence from July 18.
