Teachers' MLC polls held peacefully

Hyderabad, Ranga Reddy and Mahabubnagar Teachers’ Constituency elections were conducted peacefully here on Sunday. According to Returning Officer Adwaith Kumar Singh, 82.38 poll per cent was registered.

Apart from web-casting from all polling stations, authorities said two video cameramen were deployed at each polling station to capture the footage of polling process. Singh claimed no untoward incident was reported at any polling station.

Counting of votes for the elections will be taken up at Amberpet indoor stadium on March 22 from 8 am onwards. All the ballot



boxes from the polling stations in Mahabubnagar, Wanaparthy, Gadwal, Nagarkurnool, Ranga Reddy, Vikarabad, Medchal and Hyderabad were stored in the strong room established at Amberpet indoor stadium.Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) in cooperation with different departments made the arrangements for conducting the elections, which was held from 8 am to 6 pm.

As many as 12 candidates are in the fray. In all, 23,789 teachers are listed as voters for Mahabubnagar-Ranga Reddy-Hyderabad Teachers’ Constituency. Of these, 13,069 are men and 10,719 are women.
