Tappachabutra police have arrested a man and his two aides for allegedly attempting to murder his sister-in-law over a family property dispute. 

The prime accused was identified as Mohd Dastagir Shareef of Asifnagar. His associates are Md Gulam Nabi Qureshi and Mohd Osman. 

According to Tappachabutra Station House Officer G. Balakrishna, on July 27 the accused allegedly dragged Dastagir’s sister-in-law, Shameem Begum, out of her house in Samosa Galli, Dabeerpura, attacked her and slashed her neck. 

They



also assaulted and restrained her husband Mohd Azam Shareef when he tried to intervene. Despite sustaining grievous injuries, Shameem managed to run out for help.

The trio reportedly chased her and stabbed her in the stomach, causing severe injuries. Kulsumpura ACP V. Tirupathi said the trio fled as people gathered at the scene. 

They tried to conceal the weapon used in the attack. Shameem Begum was rushed to Osmania General Hospital for treatment. Police later traced and arrested the three accused in connection with Crime No. 145 of 2026.
