Finance Minister T Harish Rao on Sunday said the Congress and the BJP had entered into a secret pact in Telangana State.

Since the Congress Party was targeting the State government instead of the NDA government at the Centre, which had the three contentious agriculture bills passed in Parliament recently, Harish Rao has said the Congress’ behaviour was a clear indicator that the two national parties had arrived at a secret understanding in the State.

Describing the three agriculture bills as anti-farmers, the Minister said the Congress in Telangana did not even stage a protest against these bills.

Harish Rao was speaking after five prominent Congress leaders and Municipal Councillors of Medak Municipality Y Jayashri (8th ward), Medi Kalayani (9th ward), O Vasantharaj (16th ward), S Mamatha (28th ward), Boddula Rukmini (29th ward) joined the TRS in Medak in his presence. Over 500 Congress workers also joined

the ruling party.

Addressing the new entrants, he said the Congress party’s Telangana affairs in-charge Manickam Tagore should know how Telangana government was working for the welfare of the farmers with a slew of welfare and development programmes before criticising Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

On Tagore’s call to the party leaders to ensure a Congress win in the 2023 elections at a recent rally in Sangareddy, Harish Rao said the Congress was only day-dreaming about achieving a victory. “The Congress has not set foot in Dubbaka Assembly constituency even though the election schedule has been announced,” he said, adding that people must realise that the Congress candidate had just managed 26,000 votes in the 2018 Assembly election.

MLA Medak Padmadevendar Reddy, MLC Farooq Hussain, Municipal Chairman, Chandrapal and others were present.
